Apology accepted, LKG, and let's just let it go at that.
I haven't listened fully enough to the new album to really
comment on it, but New Party, man, it rocks.
And Glitter... I think the lyrics are great, and I'm a little
disappointed that the latter part of the song almost burries them in the music.
But hell...
The title track:
Wow...
It kinda echoes strangely with "Like A Possum" on Lou Reed's new album.
Both songs are extremely long, "Gung Ho" runs about 12 minutes and
"Like A Possum" about 18(sic), and although widely different
both musically and lyrically, they both have a sort of repetetive
angry meditation style to 'em.
But then, it may just be me.
I feel strange. "Gung Ho" comes out and blows me away,
and before my body even hits the ground, I'm hit by "Ecstasy"...
A new Patti album and a new Lou album with so little time between.
I must bow down to the Big Magnet which controls everything
for delivering such joy upon my filthy sinful life.
Ahh... life is almost worth it now...
