Re: Patti - Meltdown - 20 June 2005

Thankyou, Andrew, for your prompt reviews of all these lovely-sounding
events!! I'm so happy you could get to go, and wish I had had a steamer trunk
to stowe away in, a la some 19th century fortune-hunting lad!
(Or 'lass', in this case lol!)
My 'fortune' of course would have been these shows! Truly a once-in-a-lifetime
affair, even if she continues these annually. The premier event is always to
be cherished!

What an adventure you're having--I'm so pleased to get the facts and your
opinions as well. "Tuned his guitar for hours"--HAHA!
I'll bet you wish it could go on forever. (The events, not the tuning--hee
hee!)
Thankyou so much, again!

*Anyone have any pix? Did they allow photography?

Monday was the first of two concerts by Television in the Queen
Elizabeth Hall. So far as I could tell the setlist was fairly
standard. Tom Verlaine spend hours tuning his guitar between numbers,
but produced magic when he played. Patti did not come on stage to
introduce the band at the start, so it was a pleasant surprise when
she joined them on stage for the first part of their encore a
  completely new song about Ophelia.

I didn't attend the second Television concert, on Tuesday, but I was
told that she sang the same song at the encore then too.

  kind regards

  Andrew
