Re: U2/Patti tix dropping NOW!

Hey Guys!

I (confession time!) used to work at Ticketmaster when their HQ was inside the
bowels of the Kingdome here in Seattle and moved with them to the new digs
across the street which has grown immensely.
(I actually in desperation tried to get a job there again a few yrs back and
was told I 'knew too much' and couldn't work there! HA!)

ANYWAY, its the practise of TM to hold a block of tickets for release about 2
weeks before the show, then again the day of show. There's promoter holds that
they release (in the 1st 10 rows!) and others that they've set aside just for
this purpose.

Just a heads-up for those wishing to attend a 'sold-out' concert-----and
remember, when an operator says 'no tickets available'--it does NOT mean
'sold-out'!
****
BTW, I had to quit working there tho I quite enjoyed the cameraderie of those
first years and the perks (no service charges and free tickets to alot of
things--they don't do that now!) after 6 yrs because I hit the pay ceiling for
a Cust. Svc. Agent----$5.75/hr!! That was back in 1990, but it was a very low
wage even then! And as I say, this was the high end! :\ However, tickets to
travelling B'way shows for free, Nutcracker (which is truly a Seattle gem) and
countless more--plus being able to get good seats without waiting in line
anywhere was worth not getting paid more than rent and beer money!!
*******
Just wanted to let everyone know that there usually always are tickets
available--you just have to stay on top of it. Day of show its almost a given
there will be tix released. They could be called 'obstructed view' tickets or
they could be the promoter holds I spoke of earlier. Its really a crapshoot,
depending on the show.

Seems like our Anthony R has his finger on the old pulse regarding this show!

And I KNOW I'm going to get the full report--don't be too hard on Bono.....U2
IS a good band, after all! :-)
(Even though his messianic complex gets me a bit irate as well--he's a cocky
SOB but hey--he's done some good things too.)

And give an extra 'whoop' for me at Patti--I sure wish I could be there! :-(

XO-Glenna
