Tower Records In Store NYC

I arrived there about 1hr 45 minutes before it was scheduled to start
after driving about 2 1/2 hours from Southern NJ & already there were
about 30 people in line. Went in, got my wristband & Copy of
Horses/Horses...Then it was waiting time. Was able to pass the time
with the woman standing behind me. Seems she was my age (42) & we
shared a lot of Patti stories & experiences. Made the time go faster.
At least it was VERY WARM for NY in November, that helped a bit.
Finally we were ushered inside the store. Patti, Lenny (acoustic
Guitar), Tony (Keyboards) & Jay Dee (Bass) performed 5 songs:

Redondo Beach
Kimberly
Wing
Free Money
Gloria

In between each song there was a few Q&A (some seemed quite silly &
Patti let us know). She reminised about Recording Horses @ Electric
Lady. She also took quite a few Black & White poloroid pictures of
the crowd. I later found out the camera was from 1963.

After the performance we were again forced to go outside & line up
for the signing. After about 90 minutes, I was FINALLY face to face
with someone I've admired for 30 years. I gave her a few pictures I
had taken when she first performed with her daughter Jesse in
Philadelphia a few years ago, she really seemed appreciative &
thanked me over & over. My brother (THANKS BILL), took a picture of
me & her I will cherish forever. Then she signed my Horses/Horses as
well as my copy of "Auguries of Innocence", then I was off to the
band to have them sign the CD. I also had Lenny sign my 45 cover
of "Child Bride", he seemed to enjoy showing it to Tony & JD. Then it
was another 2 1/2 hour drive back to the wastelands of South Jersey.

Sorry if this went on a bit long, but it was simply an AMAZING
EXPERIENCE for me, one I will never forget...OH YEAH, the live Horses
CD ROCKS, listened to it on the way home

Cheers,
Tom G
