GLOBAL Patti Smith & Lenny Kaye 35th Anniversary Party: Seattle
(Tacoma/Puget Sound/Pacific Northwest)
See: <http://events.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=events.detail&eventID=34108.08984>
Patti Smith & Lenny Kaye began their amazing collaboration on February
10, 1971. (The first song they wrote together was FREE MONEY - aaaaand
we all know where that led.)
Whereas the 30th Anniversary of the release of HORSES was celebrated
and commemorated with the release of the 2 disc Legacy Edition on Nov.
8th it was, for lack of a better word, a 'commercial' event.
My vision is a HAPPENING for the fans; & this seemed like a natural. I
am delighted to set something up for people who can get to Seattle.
Yeah, we all get together - so to speak - at the shows, lists &
groups. At the shows in particular I find it very hard to connect up
with friends/the freaks, which always bums me out. Here would be a way
to cross paths with a real chance to meet & mingle, especially with
folks on the lists & groups who have yet to meet.
More details to follow....right now I am asking for y'all to send me
your ideas, thoughts and suggestions. (First task is to find a great
venue.)
Also, if you set one up in another city or town in your country,
please drop me an invite/notice.
