Union Square Great Hall Reading (2/8)

Did anyone attend?

I did but I just can't write the great reviews I read here so I 'll just
make a few comments until someone else steps up.

Surfice to say it was lovely. Pattil seemed to smile thu the whole evening.

Highlights-
She showed us her French medal!
She had a small laughing fit at the beginning of one poem, and said
something to the effect of when that happens she has to do something different and
then did an acoustic "my B. Year".
She told a funny story of running into Bob Dylan on the street (she tried
not to catch his eye) but he said "Hey, Patti" What's with this Dylan's Dog?
And she replied "It's just a dream, Bob".

I found it endearing the way she introduced almost every poem as "here's a
little poem" or "this is a little poem".

Mostly, the history of the place, the podium. Thinking of all the hands
that shuffled papers and touched the as described by patti "cracked leather".
Leading up to our girl/woman Patti.

Aside: the ppl behind me talking so much I almost had to move. At one
point one said "she's funny" with surprise. I knew when I would turn around at
the end it would be "kids". It was. It's ok :)
