Mike, you might be onto something about the Kinks.

    I'm pretty sure that they were one of the groups in the late 60's and
early 70's who had to deal with a manager stealing the band's name, and for a
while much confusion would ensue, especially for the real band and its fans.
    Fleetwood Mac is another band this happened to.  Heck, it coulda been the
same no-goodnik manager for both bands.  I gotta dig out my old Rolling Stones
one of these days and look for it.  Except every time I start to do that I get
sooo hung up READING the issue.  (This was back in the days when Rolling Stone
was a serious periodical!)
