OK, I had to watch it. I just saw the American Idol contestant attempt to
sing "Because The Night".
She didn't hit it very well, and it made me realize how great Patti is with
that tune.
Interesting, though, was the fact that Simon said she didn't get close to
the original version, but noone EVER mentioned Patti Smith's name. The song,
and the original singer, were given accolades, but again noone said Patti's
name.
