Reunited The Cars for Blondie tour
http://muzica.moldova.org/stiri/eng/10889/
US rock group The Cars - whose song Drive attended an touchy video of
starving children at the original Live Aid concert - are to
restructure. The band formed in 1977 but broke up acrimoniously after
releasing their final album a decade later.
The Cars calls themselves The New Cars. They hope to avoid misleading
fans who might otherwise suppose they're seeing the unique line-up.
The keyboard player Greg Hawkes has produced acts such as Hall and
Oates, Meat Loaf and Patti Smith.
The Cars will release an album of studio and concert tracks and will
feature on Blondie's final tour in May.
Three members will be absent from the reunion. It is about Bass player
Benjamin Orr died of cancer in 2000. Singer and guitarist Ric Ocasek
and drummer David Robinson declined to take part, but both have been
"actually pretty supportive," said Easton, quoted by BBC News.
