SEATTLE, Wash. KIRO Television is proud to present "KIRO Backstage,"
a locally produced special hosted by KIRO 7 News Anchor Julie
Francavilla on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. This thirty-minute
program explores the diverse lives of women who make up our Pacific
Northwest communities.

In Seattle, there's a new league of strong, intelligent, risk-taking
women who are proving they can do anything. KIRO 7 Eyewitness News
Reporter Amy Clancy introduces us to "The Rat City Rollergirls" and
explains why there's a lot more to these women than just the roller
derby.

Last year, Rolling Stone magazine named 10 artists to watch for in
2005. One of those artists lives right here in western Washington.
KIRO 7 Eyewitness News Reporter Alison Grande sits down with Brandi
Carlile, a small-town girl from Ravinsdale who is now hitting it big
in the music world.

It was just a generation ago that Washington voters thought a woman's
place was in the home. Now, they believe it's in the House, the Senate
and even the Governor's Mansion. KIRO 7 Eyewitness News
Photojournalist Jay Johnson spent the day with State Senator Marilyn
Rasmussen who has not only been a legislator for 20 years but is a
mother of seven and grandmother of 19.

The law that changed the lives of millions of American girls and women
turns 34 this year. KIRO 7 Eyewitness News Reporter Deborah Horne
talks to a group of girls from Garfield High School about Title IX and
what it has done for girls' athletics today.

Also in this edition of KIRO Backstage, meet Sue Carter, a visionary
of an all female skiing expedition and author of "Ordinary Women: An
Arctic Adventure." And meet Patti Smith, the 1970's punk-rock icon who
was recently in Seattle for the ROCKRGRL Music Conference.

"KIRO Backstage" is produced by Emmy-award winning Reporter Deborah Horne.

I missed this this first time it aired. Seems like it will be a short
segment though.

I see if you have the right hardware/software it can be recorded and
possibly watched online through titan tv:

Although from what I read it seems you may have to be in the local
area for it to be free.
