Re: Patti Smith on the Return of the Tie

I just tore the page out and put it in an envelope for my sis.   Factoid I 
didn't know:  for her 23rd birthday Robert Mapplethorpe madee her  a tie rack 
"adorned" with the Virgin Mary.  She also talked about Fred  wearing ties and 
mentioned going thru the Amazon with him. The articl began with  her talking 
about Catholic schoolboys in white shirts and ties and how she was  attracted to 
that look that the boys themselved hated.
 
That's all that stuck with me.  Oh!  The used and old photo of  her (Horses 
pic, what else?).  I found myself wishing it had been a recent  pic.
