Eugene, OR? Santa Monica? I think there'a a variety of
recordings of Eugene out there but the one I had on hand
was too piss-poor to subject anybody to.

I have the "Swingin' Pig" version. But I find the show
unlistenable due to the obvious fatigue and the ravaged
voice.

Okay, let me say upfront I wasn't trying to be
a smartass or bait anybody or anything like that.
(I know it doesn't exactly read that way.)

Well, in the same way that some pros insist that a
crashing cymbal is the acid test of a compression
method's validity, I feel that way about handclaps
close to an audience mic. To my ears, it's an
unmistakeable tell. If you have the "Bitch Can
Wail" CD, compare the audience noise before she
speaks with what's on the torrent, and even
(although to a lesser extent) her speaking about
taking lessons from her son. Once the band starts,
things are much less distinguishable.
Of course, maybe BCW is actually an expertly done
cleanup which hides existing artifacts, but it just
sounds fuller and smoother to me.
