Halloween Parade
New York City
Recorded by Drifter666
Lineage: d7->DAT-CDR->You
Live from a moving truck (float) in the middle of the parade. Sounds really
good considering !
Background: I was at an all day/night wedding where costumes where required
and in the middle I got a phone call saying Patti Smith and her band were
going to play on a float in the Halloweeen Parade. I had been a chimney sweep at
the Wedding but ran home and got my toy horse nad became Johnny from the
Horses" song. My friends from Canada had never been to the parade and made the
trip from the wedding to the parade. We walked along with the float. After the
parade we returned to the wedding. My Canadian friends were speechless....
For those of you outside New York City the Greenwich Village Halloween
Parade may be the largest of its tyupe in the world and goes for about 23 blocks
and is packed with thousands/millions of people going nuts each year ! Lou
Reed wrote the song called "Halloween Parade" on his New York album about it !
