I'll bet she thought about the last two sentences a little
before she was approached. Patti is a relaxed, casual
person (we crossed paths a couple times). It's just not
like her to make such a formal statement off the cuff.
Now the first line, "I'm not even fucking embarrassed..."
is classic, spontaneous Patti.

Some of.... probably most of, the greatest poetic minds
think about what they're going to write or say before it
comes out when they know it's going to be quoted.
There nothing wrong with that.

Patti has said some amazing things in interviews and in
casual settings. Her lines about her scuffed elbow are
no less amazing, but it reads like a composition. The
human brain just doesn't process outwardly using three
connected images when speaking spontaneously.

Then again, Patti may have paused for a few seconds
before saying "May [guitars] be the only weapons..."
allowing her mind to click into composition mode.
Oscar Wilde was a master at being quotable at very
surprising moments. Has Patti attained such high
ranking with the Muse? Maybe she has.... I don't
know.
