My mistake in my last posting. You've been on this list for a while,
but it's good to read your appreciation for Patti, all the same. So,
welcome again!

I have an address for Patti in my personal phone book I've kept from the
mid 70s. It's an East Village apartment on 5th Ave. with the zip code of
10003. Would that make it an East Village address? I never used it as at
the time I was so in awe of Patti that I couldn't form any words to say to
her.
I'm still in awe of her, but not as intimidated. I still have her phone
number,
but it's also from 1974. That would be a trip if I dialed it and Patti
answered.

I doubt if she's remember the few brief encounters we had. Maybe I could
record it and post an audio file titled "The sound of Patti Smith hanging
up
on an anonymous fan."

The good thing about this list is that there is a handful of people here who
are still directly in touch with Patti and might share your message with
her.

Good luck,

Paul
