hi babellistas,
the berlinale started today with martin scorsese's "shine a light" - the rolling stones concert movie.
patti smith was among the guests of the opening of the festival. she was especially welcomed by kathrin bauernfeind, who moderated the show. patti was quite surprised, stood up and turned around to the people in the berlinale palast - never taking off her dark glasses.
all this was to be seen on german tv.

on friday, 08.02.08, patti will perform poetry and songs
in the passionskirche kreuzberg;
