I was thinking that the 30th anniversary of Easter must be around
about now. Having looked through some cuttings its seems the album
came out in the UK on 3 March 1978. Did Because the Night come out a
bit later than the album? I can't remember. Nevertheless, I do
remember buying both records in London. I was pleasantly surprised to
find one song I already knew - Space Monkey - from Teenage Perversity.
Shortly afterwards we got to see Patti twice on TV - on the South
Bank Show and the Old Grey Whistle Test. And Patti was getting a lot
of press coverage, so there were interviews in several of the music
papers.
Anyway, 30 years ago this month Patti was in the middle of a European
Tour. This included her Easter Day concert in Paris on 26 March 1978.
Now she is in Paris preparing for her Exhibition at the Fondation
Cartier, which opens on 28 March 2008.
