President Bush wishes Patti Smith a happy Easter

This Easter Sunday, as the Iraq war moved into its sixth year, U.S. President George W. Bush marked the anniversary of the U.S led invasion to topple Saddam with an upbeat speech in which he said the United States was once again on track Till Victory, quoting the opening song from Rock and Roll hall of fame artist Patti Smiths 1978 album, Easter.

Sources have learned that Mr. Bush had planned to give an Easter Sunday radio speech, in which he sited not only Patti Smith's song, but Bruce Springsteens anthem, Born in the USA. Mr. Bush reportedly was going to say, its artists like Bruce Springsteen and Patti Smith who keep the American dream of war alive. Mr. Bush would have gone on to further quote Patti Smiths lyrics from Till Victory: Take arm, take aim, be without shame. No one to bow to, to vow to, to blame.

Mr. Bush would have continued his pro war sentiments, saying: Patriotic Americans like Patti Smith are exactly right. There is "no one to blame" for this war. I may have been incorrect about Iraq harboring weapons of mass destruction, but we eliminated the threat of the horrible dictator Hussein from that country. American is now a far safer country.
However, it had been learned that Mr. Bush's speech was quickly canned, when advisors to the President pointed out that both Patti Smith and Bruce Springsteen were two of his most vocal critics in the music industry. A contrite Mr. Bush reportedly replied: never mind.
When contacted for her reaction in Paris, a horrified Ms. Smith was momentarily speechless. When she regained her thoughts, Ms. Smith said. We the people, in order to form a more perfect union, must be a thorn in the side of the Bush administration, until they bleed rivers of their tainted blood! So I urge all Americans to rise up and take back power to the people!"
