Re. "Land"

I agree that if one were expecting a more literal depiction of "Land,"
then the Millenium episode would probably be disappointing. However, I
think that the purpose of this clip was to show the connection between
the massive environmental destruction and the mental collapse of the
character experiencing these visions. Sometimes music is used in
soundtracks to express a particular character's state of mind instead of
trying to create a narrative based exactly on the imagery of the song.
Although what I think Patti is describing in "Land" is quite different
in tone and substance than the Millenium "Land" segment (and much more
profound), I believe the environmental, psychological, and apocalyptic
themes of this video clip are not very distantly related to those
occurring in Patti's work. And I also feel that fictionalized accounts
of plagues, terrorism, etc. can make people more aware of these dangers.
After all, what was happening in that Millenium episode regarding
extremists intentionally trying to arrange a doomsday scenario
consistent with their philosophy is actually occuring in real-life, with
reports of religious and political sects using germ warfare and other
methods of mass destruction to gain political control.
